Solar Jobs in Underserved Communities

Just as California has been a national leader in solar adoption, it has also been a leader in solar jobs. A report by The Solar Foundation shows that California employed nearly 55,000 solar workers in 2014 and the number is projected to grow to nearly 64,500 this year.

New CSI-Thermal Changes Approved

In January, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) approved changes to the CSI-Thermal Program which aim to increase adoption of solar thermal technologies and drive substantial progress toward meeting program goals. Following are some of the changes:

A new guidebook outlining ways for California cities and counties to make permit processing and inspections for single-family residential rooftop solar electric systems quicker and uniform is now available from the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE).

Project Supports Multitenant Property PV

Multifamily Solar Project

The U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Initiative has awarded $712,000 to the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE) for a project aimed at eliminating barriers to greater adoption of solar electric power systems at multiple tenant commercial properties and multifamily housing.
